Hemodialysis at Tabba Kidney Institute
In Pakistan, there are approximately 8,000 individuals on maintenance hemodialysis who are being dialysed at more than 140 dialysis centers across the country. According to conservative estimates each year more than 18,000 individuals are added to the pool that require renal replacement therapy (most unfortunately die before initiating dialysis or being transplanted).
Treatment of Kidney disease is considered expensive and needs good infrastructure to meet the International standards. In 2011 current CEO Muhammad Ali Tabba continued his father`s mission to provide best of medical facility to the ailing population of this country and so instructed to build state of the art Kidney Institute.
In mid of 2012 architectural design of the hospital finalized and with the vision of the CEO a state of the art Kidney Institute (Known as Tabba Kidney Institute) started its function.
Now at Tabba kidney Institute there are 49 dialysis machines with latest technology with dedicated machines for HBsAg positive patient and Anti HCV positive patients respectively. We are doing dialysis daily in four shifts except Sunday. Each session of dialysis takes four hours with bicarbonate bath.
